(Continued from page 2:)
A couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things. During a checkup, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember.
Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair. "Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?" he asks.
"Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?"
"Sure."
"Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?" she asks.
"No, I can remember it."
"Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so's not to forget it?"
He says, "I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries."
"I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write it down?" she asks.
Irritated, he says, "I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream,
I got it, for goodness sake!"
Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, the old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs. She stares at the plate for a moment and replies.
"Where's my toast ?"

“Christmas and the season of holidays. Last week, the staff decorated the lobby with a beautiful Christmas tree, a menorah, and all sorts of holiday garland. With the panoramic view, the huge tree, the magnificent modern stairway wrapped with traditional evergreen, it’s quite a sight.
Today, when our 7 young peds patients came for treatment, they each found a bicycle with their name on it, under the tree. Talk about saucer eyes, happy squeals and grateful parents. Talk about the joy of giving to kids, and helping them get their minds off their problems and pain. Where did the bikes come from? From a patient who, with our intrepid Dwanda’s help, just went out and did it. We all thank you both, and wish the happiest Christmas and holiday season for you and yours. You have made us all proud to be part of the Florida Proton family.
And what about our new, 8th little kid who is just starting. Another patient has already taken care of that.
Here’s an early Merry Christmas story for all you UFPTI alumni, patient and caregiver alike”.
WOW: I had tears in my eyes as I read this story.
