Hi Everyone, I just received the reading for my PSA, 6.24! It's going in the right direction. I started treatment in May with a PSA of 11.69, I finished my treatment in July with a PSA of 8.0, and three months later in October it is 6.24. This is a good thing!
I hope you are all doing well and your PSA’s are down as well. I've heard from some and it looks like we are all heading in the right direction.
Have a great weekend. I hope to hear from you all soon.

Hi, Bob. I'd like to join your group, please. If you'd send me the membership form, I'll fill it out and return it to you.
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer on September 19, and since then my wife and I have been doing a lot of research on the subject. We were down to Jacksonville for my initial evaluation on October 15, and are now waiting to be scheduled for the three-day workup. I had hoped to begin treatment ASAP, but the large number of people in the pipeline is delaying it some.
Thanks and best wishes...

To all of my fellow Floridabob members, I just received the results of my 9 month PSA reading. Before treatment it was 9.7. Upon completion of treatments my PSA was 8.4, at the 3 months reading it was 3.4, at the 6 month reading it was 2.8 and I just received word that my 9 month PSA level is still declining to a reading of 1.5. Man, do I feel great.
May everyone’s PSA be ever declining?

A JOB WELL DONE BY THE FLORIDABOB MEMBERS
I received a letter requesting information about “Proton Therapy Treatments from the daughter of a man that has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The content of her letter is as follows:
“Hello,
I’m e-mailing on behalf of my father Bruce R. who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January 2007.
He is very interested in talking with someone who has been through the proton therapy. This is the treatment my father is looking into having.
We would greatly appreciate it, if someone who had experience with prostate cancer and the treatment they used would contact him.
My father is not handy with computers at all. He’s never even used one. He doesn’t even have a cell phone. Talk about old school. However, I have been trying to do my best to find information for him that would best suit him.
I not sure what his gleason score is and he is not home at this time to ask, I do know his PSA level was a 6.
He would love to talk with someone on the telephone. They do have a business so whom ever would contact them, please tell the person who answers the phone right away what you are calling in reference to or you may get redirected.
I’m very concerned for him. I feel he is not moving quickly enough on getting a treatment for this. I know he is trying to find the best treatment with the least side effects. I feel he has allowed too much time to pass at this point.
If he could speak with someone who has experienced prostate cancer, my hopes are it will comfort his fears and he will quickly make a decision. We have read several things about the proton therapy and it sounds like it something he would be happy with.
